Air Compression Tools vs Battery Powered Tools

With the emergence of battery powered tool systems include Milwaukee's Fuel M18 Line, products such as their Milwaukee 2767-22 puts out a whopping 1,400ft-lbs torque of nut breaking force. What's incredible about this is the fact is that the gun is a 1/2" drive. With Milwaukee thrust into lithium ion powered batteries, it will be just a matter of time until it replaces the conventional air compressor tools.

Power

Undoubtedly, lithium powered tools are beginning to pack some serious punches out performing their older cousins.

Cost

While head to head lithium ion powered tools cost more than air tools, for the new comer mechanic, the actual costs of the initial investment will work out higher.

Warranties

lithium ion tools such as Milwaukee's 2767-22 carries a full 2 year warranty on the batteries with a 5 year warranty on the tool, beating back its older cousins which typically carry 1 year warranties.

While there are many reasons as to the belief that lithium tools will soon replace air tools the reality is air tools such as sprayer painters will still be in demand for some time to come... but who knows... technology evolves rapidly...
